SUPER CHATTY VLOG!!!! READ BELOW TO GET A SUMMARY HOW I SET UP CANON SX610 HSHey guys so I've been on the hunt for an affordable vlogging camera cos I use to always vlog on my phone - but it's like at the end of its life and so it dies very quickly. My Canon 700D takes amazing footage but it is heeeaavvyyy and super bulky to carry around. I wanted a camera that is affordable, compact, convenient and has good video quality and so, I stumbled upon this babyPlease note that I am not an expert AT ALL and I just wanted to vlog using this camera so both you and I can see its pros and cons. It was a slow start but after I CHANGED THE SETTINGS, it made all the difference. The footage of my whole routine of getting out of bed…etc was filmed using the default settings. It was a super dark and gloomy today so I decided to change its settings to “low light” (you can do this by pressing ‘func set’ and change it from ‘AUTO’ to ‘Low light’) and I think that made a difference. Also note that I am using the Lexar class 10 SD card which can support high definition – my footage looks very different to the other videos that use the sx610 and I’ve noticed that the really grainy looking videos use a lower quality SD card --- again, I’m no expert so it’s just a theory. So if you’ve gotten the camera and think it looks different from my footage, that might be the reason (or you have different settings on).My final thoughts are: I actually love this camera. While I was editing, I was so pleasantly surprised by the quality. It looked grainier on the LCD screen but once you transfer it, it’s absolutely fine. I bought this camera well under $200 ($184 to be exact) from JBHiFi during their recent sale.
