We are not professional photographers and didn't think a DSLR would be right for us, but liked the option of manual focus if we so chose. The pics are bright and vivid, especially in outdoor lighting. The only problem we are having is that our young granddaughter's photos are ofter blurred because she is always in motion. We have not taken the time to read the accompanying booklet in detail. Still subjects' picture quality is amazing. There may be a better mode to take children's pics in. We still need to do some reading and research. Otherwise, the pics are definitely more crisp than with our older Sony camera. All in all, we are quite happy with this Nikon and hope to enjoy it for years to come.
