Where does the Fujifilm X-30 fit in the world of enthusiast point and shoot cameras? In terms of horsepower (or sensor size), I would say it lands in the middle of the pack. Larger than the entry level 1/1.7" sensor equipped cameras, but much smaller than the 1" or larger sensors. In terms of features, functions and ergonomics, I would say this is right at the top of the pack, with a beautiful EVF, solid battery power and a very mature (3rd gen) operating system.I go through a few different cameras to explain where a camera like the X-30 lands, although this isn't really a review on the camera itself.
