One Nikon D7200 camera body fitted with a 18-200mm Nikkor lens. In the last few minutes before leaving, I decided to travel even lighter, so instead of my Nikon, I put my Fuji X-M1 fitted with the 16-50mm kit lens into a small Lowepro TLZ Camera Holster Bag and headed off to Durham, NC to meet up with a friend and photograph blues artist Samantha Fish.I have been a fan of the blues for a long time, as a guitar player and fan, I had the opportunity of meeting and getting to see some of the great legends of our time, such as BB King, Buddy Guy, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughn, The Allman Brothers Band, Bryan Lee, Robert Cray, Mike Dugan and many other great blues legends.When the show started and Samantha Fish came on stage with her band which included a bass player and drummer, all very talented musicians, I was surprised to hear such a caliber of vocal talent and musicianship coming out of this young trio. I understand Samantha is only in her mid-20s.Samantha and the band tore it up with her variety of not just electric blues, but also played a mixture of acoustic, country, rockin' and slide blues. She is also a very talented singer, guitarist and songwriter.I went there with the intention of taking still images only and that's pretty much what I did, with the exception of a very short movie clip. I also brought along in my bag, a small portable audio recorder and recorder two of the songs they performed. One was a beautiful acoustic number with beautiful harmony song by the bass player.When I got back home, and looked at the many images I took, I thought it would really nice to put together a slide show with these images and using the audio I recorded at the show as the sound track. But for copyright reasons, I wanted to get Samanthas' approval. So, I wrote an email to her publicity agent who shortly after wrote back saying that she forwarded my request to Samantha and her manager.
