An update on my Olympus XZ-1 Unboxing video I made some months back. I've had the camera a while now and I wanted to update you on its strong points and its quirks. I've been meaning to make this video for a while, but very recently I had a photo printed in Amateur Photographer magazine and I won a prize for Picture of the Week. So that has encouraged me to make the video. As usual I made a couple of bloopers and missed bits out. When discussing battery life I said that having 3 batteries wasn't necessarily bad. I should have clarified it by saying that carrying spares (of any accessory, not just the battery) is good practice. In the presentation section I was discussing RAW files. I meant to say that with my old DSLR and Windows PC processing RAW files was a fiddle faffle (I said compact accidentally). The correct name for the YT channel I mentioned is Digital Rev TV. I forgot to say that the camera defaults to 10MP LN (Large Normal) Quality JPEGs. To get the best JPEG Image Quality, set this to LF (Large Fine). As discussed though, RAW is really the way to go, and software such as Apple's Aperture take the headache out of editing and converting to JPEG for sharing purposes.
