Canon 5D Mark IV 4K Video Test Part 2 (Lowlight) This is the 5D Mark IV 4K video test part 2. And this part is all about lowlight. The part 1 that I did 2 months ago. It was a bit rush. So I did not have time to fully test out the low light performance on the new 5D Mark IV. Since I go to Melbourne so often now. So I decided to complete my part 2 in Melbourne city. And this time I did not use the EOS-HD C-Log picture profile. I only used the Neutral colour setting with -7 details. Overall, the 5D Mark IV did improve quite a bit comparing with 5D Mark III at high ISO. But I wouldn’t say this is a good lowlight camera. Below ISO4000, still acceptable. But try not to go over that. If you think you will be doing a lot of low light shooting. Definitely go for the A7SII. So inclusion, is this 5D Mark IV a good camera? Yes, I think so. But is it a best 4K camera for filmmaker? No, definitely not. As we all know, since Canon has moved on to Cinema Camera. We won’t be able to see something awesome for DSLR video. But the reason why I picked one up. Because I really like the colour and the skin tone from Canon. And the DCI 4K is super sharp indeed, I reckon is sharper than A7RII and A7SII in 4K. (Very similar to a6300 in terms of the detail) Another thing that I really like was the tap tracking autofocus. Its amazing. I never missed a shot when I was shooting on the street. The Magic Lantern has just announced they have successfully hacked the 5D Mark IV. Let see what they can do this time.5D Mark IV Pros and Cons (Personal Opinion)Pros- DCI true 4K resolution (4096x2160)- 4:2:2 color- Great Canon color- Duel pixel autofocus- Good battery lifeCons- 1.74x crop in 4K- No in body image stabilization - No peaking mode- No zebra- No Canon Log (Need hack)- No clean HDMI in 4K- MJPEC it's not edit friendly.
