The X-Trans II sensor that is found in the X-T1 and X100S has impressed me quite a bit. Paired with Fuji's excellent prime lenses, the X-T1 is still a camera that produces fantastic image quality. I had my reservations when switching from the excellent Nikon D750 to the X-T1 over a year ago. The D750 touts a 24mp full frame sensor with the best dynamic range and ISO performance I had ever used. After watching many reviews about Fuji's cameras and lenses, I was assured that the image quality found in Fuji's X-Trans sensors was great. I made the switch and was pleasantly surprised to find that the X-T1 more than held it's own against the D750. I wanted to shoot Fuji for many reasons (smaller, lighter, camera functionality, excellent value prime lenses, EVF, etc.). I loved the styling and functionality of Fuji cameras more so than any other camera I've used. Luckily, the image quality is on par as well. This sealed the deal for me in making the switch. I want to show you some good examples of how nice the image quality is. I'll show you real world examples of ISO performance, dynamic range performance, sharpness and overall image quality. The proof for me is in the pudding. A lot of the pudding is how prints look from the X-Trans sensor. I've been printing a lot of my work lately and have printed up to 20x30 with results that very much impressed me. Even though the X-Trans II is an older generation sensor at this point, it still can hold it's own with a majority of the cameras on the market today (including full frame).
