SOLVED: It seems that the problems comes from some dirt/rust on the HDMI port. An option is, using a toothbrush, clean the contacts carefully. This should solve the issue. Last week my less than one year old Nikon AW110's screen died without any apparent reason. The screen suddenly went black. I thought the camera had died but my surprise came when I saw that all functions of the camera were working fine apart from the screen. The weirdest thing of all is that when recording the video the screen displays what you are recording, so there should be no real damage in the screen connectors. I have googled a bit and I have seen that this problem has also apeared in Nikon's AW100 model. I have still not seen any problems with the new AW 120. The taughtest camera I've ever had and the first one I have a problem with... Is it Nikon having a lack of quality in their products? The camera has been sent to the service but I am afraid they will tell me I did a bad use of it.
