An unboxing of the new Canon PowerShot G1 X, along with some comments and observations. I didn't have this very well planed out. The camera showed up and I just wanted to get it out and play...I've used it for a couple days since filming this and so far I'm very impressed. It easily keeps up with, or surpasses any lower end D-SLR in image quality and low light (hi ISO) performance. All the talk about slow performance and focusing issues are BS. Are they thinking this is a D-SLR? Well it's not! It's a point 'n shoot with a D-SLR sensor. It does exactly what Canon designed it to do. I hope Canon keeps going with this new line of "G" series. If so, they will continue to improve it and attempt to address customer complaints or concerns. I have one of my "G" cameras with me at all times and this G1 X may be the one I never leave behind due to its amazing D-SLR image quality. I want to say that 42nd Street Photo was awesome in every way! I was a little spooked because the price was so low.
