Building on the diminutive DMC-GM1 released last year, the GM5 gains a live viewfinder and hotshoe mount, yet barely compromises on size - making it the world's smallest CSC with an EVF.Rather than replace the GM1, the GM5 will sit alongside it as a premium option aimed at more advanced photographers. It might have the same 16-megapixel micro four-thirds sensor, but with a 50% brighter LCD touchscreen and 50% faster autofocus refresh rates, plus that 0.46x magnification, 1,166k-dot LCD viewfinder, it should find an audience that the GM1 failed to reach.Despite the new additions, the GM5 is barely any larger than the GM1; at 99x59x36mm, it's only 5.7mm deeper and 5.4mm taller to make room for the new function buttons and thumbwheel control dial above the LCD display.It also has integrated Wi-Fi and support for smartphone pairing or remote shooting, with focus, aperture, shutter speed and ISO control, Full HD 1080p video recording at 60fps with full manual controls, and 5fps burst shooting in continuous autofocus mode.
