If someone noticed you photographing using the normal S mode, then he/she will still notice you using Q mode. It just makes the shutter slower, not much quieter. I never bother using this mode. Pretty much a marketing gimmick, I would say.Out of the DSLRs I have used, the Pentax K-5 is the quietest.
