I figure if you're going to purchase the Sony DSC-HX90V compact digital camera, you are doing so for the 30x zoom, which I did. Here's my hands on zoom test of this camera along with a few stills. The camera has a typical P&S sized 1/2.3" sensor and is the latest (June 2015) compact travel zoom from Sony. The millimeter figures I quote for zooms are full frame equivalents My thoughts? I think it does pretty darn good for a 1/2.3 size sensor. It also has 1080/60p HD video, wonderful image stabilization, a popup OLED Electronic View Finder (great for sunlight or zoom tracking and it's out of the way when not needed), pop up/tiltable flash and a 180 degree tilting LCD screen for low angle shots, video monitoring, and selfies.http://store.sony.com/high-zoom-point...
