It isn't looking good for more Pentax gear in the future, but getting a chance to check out the K-3 II wasn't something I wanted to pass up. This camera is targeted as a rugged outdoors field camera and it makes sense. That was the main reason I picked up a *ist DS as my first DSLR back around 2006. It isn't just a value proposition, but rather they have unique features and functions that many companies don't have in their cameras.Overall a fully featured DSLR with unique features you can't find elsewhere. You can find them used and as of this video I still see new units for sale. If you want a rugged DSLR for still photos, it seems like a good option.
