Here is an example video of the Pentax K-5 using the AA battery tray in the D-BG4 grip. I often see people complain about cameras that don't take AA batteries, but seem to forget that many higher-end cameras have grips available that usually do take AA batteries. In the case of the K-7 and K-5, they need 6 AA batteries to provide enough voltage to power the camera. The Lithium Ion battery is 7.2 volts.
