Hi I am Mark Hopkins and I've been a pro photographer since the early 90s. However, I have never owned a Nikon pro body. I am just not willing to pay the price to have a D4 or D5. However, Nikon D3 bodies used can be had for less than $700. I found one in great condition with less than 9k shutter clicks. That's a deal in my book. Even if it is only a 12 megapixel camera. f I had $3500 I would go with the D850, but for in 1999 when my wedding photo business picked up. I only buy new gear when I really need it. I am not fooled by marketing. So with that said, instead of buying a D750 or a 610 I went with an older Nikon D3. Why? Cuz having a ton of megapixels isn't as important to me as having a fast and accurate focusing camera that is built to last a nuclear war. That's part of the reason.. The other reason is I figure I will never have a chance to own a pro body Nikon--unless I pay the big $$. So presently, Nikon D3 bodies a can be had for less than $700.
