Very impressed with this Digital camera and its Video capabilities. The 25-600mm zoom equivalent lens is truly enough for all types of home video shooting. The Leica lens produces super sharp images throughout the entire focal length.I did forget to bring the tripod so footage will be somewhat shaky because they were all free hand. All video are recorded in AVCHD mode, 1080i at 60 frames. The stills are set to 8 Mega pixels w/ Fine compression. ISO was set to auto. I compared some of the stills to my Nikon D700 with Nikon 500 mirror lens and the Leica lens quality is just as good however the D700 has a closer to real life color and compression artifacts are almost none when both are set to Fine (not raw). The Panasonic engine in the Leica is the weak point again when compared to a true SLR.As a point and shoot camera and making home videos, the Leica is best for its video quality and capability. Its light weight and small enough to lug around to all outings. My Sony HDCam is now retired.
