People often ask me, what is street photography and why do you take photos of random people on the street?It seems like street photography is both a beloved genre of photography and a misunderstood one. It prompted me to really ponder about what it is that I love about street photography, and why so many of us fell in love with it. Since this is my first photography related video, I thought that it is the perfect time to a first persons view of how I document my travels around the world. Photography changed my life forever. The day I picked up a camera at 15 I became a storyteller. Photography is my passion, my obsession, my addiction and the single reason I met my beautiful wife Grace many years ago. My passion for humankind drives me to shoot mostly street photography. I thrive on searching and waiting for just the right moment when a story unfolds in a single frame. I also look to shoot the extraordinary in the ordinary - it's in the details. I've learned to see when I look, to find beauty everywhere. Although I love wandering the streets of large cities, the natural world around me always amazes me. I feel so privileged to see the world all through my lens.Beginning today I will be creating and uploading weekly videos about photography, and the equipment I use ranging from Leica to Hasselblad, Makina to Rolleiflex and everything in between. We will discuss the business of photography, equipment reviews, how I edit my photography.I will continue uploading business and web design related videos, but you will also find new photography vids in the mix.
