31.07.2014. 32 of the top men's surfers and 16 women take part in the week-long event in the small resort, which championship coordinator Daniel Bruch says offers some of the best conditions anywhere in the world for the spectacular sport. The small town near Tenerife South Airport is already filling up with surfers and fans of the discipline ahead of the start of its biggest week, which kicks off on Sunday with the official presentation of the event, with competition proper beginning on Monday 4.08.2014. Last year's event proved a thrilling affair with wind speeds hitting 40-50 kmh on several days and the organisers will be hoping for a repeat this time round.
