This is what it looks like when a photo is taken with a Nikon D3s. The mirror flips up, the shutter curtain opens and closes, then the mirror flips back down. This video was filmed with a Redlake N3 high speed camera at 1454 frames per second.I have a comparison with a Canon 5D Mark II at the end.
