Pentax, with what became known as the MZ-D, got Pentaxian hopes up early in digital camera history with the prospect of a full-frame DSLR. That prospect, in the following 15 years, became more of a wish, a dream, and at best an apparition for a hope that many Pentaxians gave up on. When the K-1 reached market, the reaction to this intuitive, clever, well designed, thoroughly thought-out, and in all ways amazing camera took some time to get traction. But, the K-1 has built a well deserved reputation as a camera of staggering capabilities backed by a magnificent interface and superb images.
